How I Lose 10 kilos #PhesDietJourney

Hello!

I'm so excited since I can bravely share my body transformation with you.

Were you really fat back then? YES I AM!

You're kidding me. How fat are you? Please watch this video 👇 (sorry I'm using Indonesian language in the video, but you can surely see my change)

I believe you're quite shock, but yep, that's me - growing as a fat ugly girl until I was 23 years old. I decided to take healthy diet just because I really want to wear beautiful gown on the wedding day of my oldest sister.

My weight was 68 kg with 165 cm height before I did the diet. Omg, It's almost 70 kg!

I didn't follow any diet methods. I created my own diet plan because everybody has different body composition, so it needs different diet method. I would say that diet methods is similar to skin cares. Your friend's skin cares may not be suitable for you because you have dryer skin. That's why you may go trough trial-and-error process in finding the most effective diet method.

Of course, you can try my diet plan if you are still exploring the right diet method. However, again, please note that my diet plan may be not suitable for you. I really enjoyed my diet process because I love doing the workout, and I could eat everything I want.

Let's Start!

WORKOUT

I did three kinds of workout: muaythai, jogging, and fitness.

I was so afraid when my friends asked me to join the muaythai class. I thought it is a scary sport since we need to do boxing and defense ourselves from our opponent's punch. However, my prejudice is totally wrong after I attend the first class. Muaythai is not only about boxing, but also cardio workout. In my opinion, the cardio is much heavier than the boxing itself.

Since the beginning of the class, I had to do some cardio movements to get my blood pumping, such as jumping, gymnastics, and basic dumbbell exercises. It took about 30 mins before I started the first round of boxing. The boxing round was only 10 mins, then you do another cardio again for about 15 mins. I kept doing that for another two rounds. Finally, the last stage was cooling down. In total, the class was finished in 2 hours. I sweated a lot, and on the next day, my body aches everywhere, I barely able to stand up, sit down, laugh, climb stairs. Oh God😭 Yet, I somehow enjoyed the training and felt addicted (maybe) with muaythai. Thus, I decided to regularly attend muaythai class with my friends, once a week. It's a fun sport after all! Thanks to the super heavy cardio, I lost my weight quickly - 7 kg in 3 months!

If you like extreme physical training, you should do muaythai! For you who are based in Jakarta, you may want check this muaythai class: Bangkok Muaythai Jakarta. The coaches are super friendly, and they will share many tips for your diet plan.

Beside joining muaythai classes, I also jogged at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta once a week at least. I usually have this exercise in the evening, around 6.30 pm together with my friends. At first, I barely able to pass a round, but then I tried to slow down my pace and kept the consistency. Finally, I could finish 4-5 rounds in 45 mins. From jogging, I was able to lose a little weight and maintain it. So happy!

And the last workout I did was fitness. I subscribe to a fitness center at Sari Pacific Hotel at Central Jakarta. But unfortunately, it's closed for public now😢 I came to this place for 3-4 days in a week. First thing first, I measure my body weight to see my workout progress. After that, I run on the treadmill for 30 mins, followed by gymnastics (30 mins) and dumbbell exercise (20 mins). I didn't hire a trainer (because it's very expensive hahaha), hence I looked for references on YouTube. Furthermore, I also joined some additional classes there, such as aerobic, zumba, and stick workout classes. The classes were very fun since I like dancing. I didn't do many activities here since my objective of doing fitness is only to maintain my body weight (burning the fat I got on the day😝)

I routinely did all those workouts, and that became a habit:

Monday: muaythai

Tuesday: fitness

Wednesday: jogging

Thursday-Friday, (Saturday): fitness

Tips: Even though we have regular workout schedule, make variations on the exercise in terms of the load and the duration. For instance, you can lift 2kg dumbbells in the first two weeks, and the increase the weight to 5 kg in the following weeks. After that, use 2 kg dumbbells again for several weeks and then the 5 kg ones. This kind of variation will hinder your body from getting used to with the exercise you do. Your body will keep trying to "adapt" with your activities by burning your calories continuously.

MEALS

I don't really strict my dietary habit as I could still enjoy any kinds of food every day. I still ate white rice, meats, coconut-milk based soup, vegetables and fruits. Yet, I limit my meal time to maximum three hours before sleep time. For instance, when I planned to sleep at 12 pm, my last meal was at 9 pm.

I pushed myself to stop consuming sugar from drinks. Instead of drinking bubble tea and sweet tea, I drank mineral water or plain hot tea. Thanks God, actually, I don't like sweet beverages or dish, so I can easily ignore sweet cake and drinks.

I have cheating days which were on weekends when I came back to my home. I can drink bubble tea (ofc, less sugar) and eat bigger portion of meals made by mom.

Even though I didn't have such strict diet, I kept controlling my appetite. When I was craving on certain food or drinks, I would let myself consume it. However, I will not force my stomach to carry heavy fat just because I love the food by limit the portion of each meal.

Tips: You may drink detox (not slimming) tea and lemon juice with honey. When I was in diet, I drank it to improve my metabolisms system. Yet, it turned out I lost my weight a little bit. Yippie!

That's it! I only focus on two aspects to lose 10 kg. Today, my weight is around 56 kg. Previously, my weight can reach as low as 52 kg when I was staying at Australia. That is because I ate more hygiene food and walk almost everyday to reach grocery mart, campus, and stations.

As I undertook the diet, I felt that my body is healthier than before. I can do many activities without getting tired easily. I also didn't have cramps when I was at the period week. That moments made me realized that diet is not only achieving body goal and getting compliments from others because of the stunning look, but also to be healthy. Since then, I kept doing exercise although I had achieved my goal.

I highlighted three key takeaways for you in doing diet:

  1. Have a strong motivation. What do you want to achieve with you body goal?

  2. Have a correct perception toward diet. I really recommend you to have a healthy diet rather than a torturous diet. You should get more benefits from healthy diet. Firstly, your body will become stronger, healthier, and fresher by losing some weight. Then, becoming pretty, handsome, and fabulous are the plus points.

  3. Be consistent. Diet is a process, means that you cannot lose weight instantly. Keep working out and plan your meals. You might not resist with cutting your meals extremely, and that's okay. Do what you can do, and then level up consistently.

Lastly, I hope that you will have a happy diet journey too. Remember that the more you enjoy the process, the more effective and faster result you can get. Hopefully, my diet journey can inspire you to keep up your spirit in achieving your body goal. Good luck!
